This blog is about Cartoons and cartooning.
I have been drawing for as long as I can remember ,starting on the walls at home and graduating from there.
Several of my cartoons have been published over the years, Although being a carpenter by trade I would dearly love to be a full time cartoonist.
Some of the my greatest work is are hidden behind bathroom mirrors in houses I have worked on under construction in the Northern Rivers of NSW Australia .
The biggest thrill of being a cartoonist is being published, especially for the first time.
In 2007 I was fortunate enough to win the open section of the Rotary International Cartooning Competition competing among some of the best cartoonist in Australia and overseas.
I am always open to constructive criticism and advise also willing to share any if able.

Hi Ron,
We’re just in the process of creating a new lawn bowls page on our sporting clubs website, the club being Mulgrave Country Club in Melbourne, Ausdtralia
As part of the new lawn bowls page we hope to start up an online bowls newsletter for our members and hope to include some humour in the articles
Are you able to give us permission to include some of your cartoons ? which are very funny and cleverly drawn
Hope to hear back from you soon
PS are you Australian ? as you make mention of the Northern Rivers of NSW on this web page

Hi Ron,
About the same time last year (in fact 21 July) I sent you a request asking if we could include some of your cartoons on the Lawn Bowls page of the Mulgrave Country Club website. You were kind enough to reply however I’ve unfortunately lost your e-mail response. We didn’t get around to including any cartoons last season however we are currently undertaking a review of the website and would like to include cartoons next season. Can you please contact me via e-mail and I’ll explain in more detail what we’d like to do. Many thanks in advance and in anticiopation of a positive response

Hello Ron,
I’m from a small lawn bowling club, 70 members, and we would like to include your “RollUp” cartoons in our Newsletter.
What do we have to do to get permission to include them?
Thanks
Alan

Hi Ako
I would like to use a few of your bowls cartoons in a new book I am producing to raise funds for Alzheimer’s Australia. All profits are for this organisation. My books are on funny stories and poems about lawn bowls and I would use a few of your delightful cartoons to illustrate some of the chapters.
Looking forward to hearing from you

Hi Ron
I belong to a small country town bowling club. Would it be possible to use one or two of your great cartoons on our notice board now and then. They would bring a laugh to us seniors.

Hi Ron,
I was wondering if you would be interested in putting up some of your cartoons on http://www.toonsket.com?
This is a website meant to encourage cartooning. It provides a set of base images/characters that anyone can use to create cartoon strips with.
If you wanted, you could draw some characters and let others use them to create stories. Alternatively, you could not share them, but create cartoons with them yourself.
It also lets you create cartoon story-books collaboratively. It’s still in its incipient stages, and I’d love to get your feedback at any rate.
Thanks, and keep the gorgeous toons coming!

Hi Ron, Is there any way I could purchase a poster sized image of the “Pair of Hoars” cartoon. I rent fishing rowboats for a living, and I know my customers would get a “big charge” out of it. It would look great on a wall.
Thank You.

Hello
I am presently building a website for our bowls club. I would really like to include some of your cartoons in the web site. I would be exceedingly grateful if you would give me permission to do so to improve the website AND bring some smiles to our members.
I will of course add links to this site if you wanted.
Thank you, and another thank you for bringing a smile to my face

Hi Ron
About every two months we publish “The Boulevard Whisper” a newsletter with a print run of 120 for the East Ivanhoe Bowling Club. We think that your work is a great descriptor of bowling and bowlers and request your permission to publish some of your cartoons, with appropriate acknowledgement of course.
Regards

Hi Ron,
I was looking for pics to use for Dad’s upcoming presentation night…so far I have spend the best part of an hour laughing! So now I’m seriously side-tracked.
Thanks for the laugh.

Would like permission to reprint some of your bowling cartoons in our monthly newsletter, “On the Jack.” Your cartoons are wonderfully funny and many times, most accurate. Our newsletter is sent out to our members only as a PDF. Thank you, from Sun City Grand, Arizona, USA.
